NAMDA already has the hard part: collegiality, a welfare culture, and five years of doing the work. What it doesn't have is a platform that collects the dues, keeps the register current, runs a clean EXCO ballot, and survives every change of guard.
NAMDA was formed in 2020 and is heading for around fifty specialists and GPs across the ACT. At that size, everything still works. But it works because a handful of people carry it manually. These are the points where that starts to hurt.
Bank transfers arrive with unhelpful references. Matching them to members means opening statements beside a spreadsheet and hoping the names line up.
One in email, one in WhatsApp, one in a spreadsheet from a previous EXCO. Nobody is confident which one is current.
People genuinely intend to pay and then forget, because paying means finding an account number in an old message thread.
When a member needs help, contributions are gathered by message and tallied by hand, at exactly the moment nobody has the energy for admin.
The current EXCO holds a two year term. The next election means nominations, eligibility checks, a secret ballot and a count, all by hand, and all needing to be above question.
Records live in personal laptops and personal inboxes. Every change of guard loses a little more of the association's memory.
namda.com.au does its job as an introduction. But it was built as a brochure, and a few things a visiting doctor or a prospective partner will notice are worth fixing regardless of anything else in this proposal.
None of this reflects on the association. It reflects on the tools it was built with.
Observed from the live site, August 2026
One platform with two halves. The outside introduces NAMDA to doctors, hospitals and the Nigerian community in Canberra. The inside runs membership, money, welfare and elections for the EXCO.
Who NAMDA is, what it stands for, the annual walk, and a clear way to join. Rebuilt around your own identity, not a theme's.
Mobile firstA doctor applies online with their details and AHPRA registration. The EXCO approves before the account goes live.
Approval flowCard or bank debit from the member's own dashboard. A receipt lands in their inbox the same minute.
Card and bankDues renew on schedule. Reminders go out before the due date, not three months after it.
Set and forgetName, specialty, practice, AHPRA number, year joined, payment history. Searchable and exportable.
One registerWho is financial, who is overdue, what came in this month, and a year to date total ready for the AGM.
Live figuresOpen an appeal, let members contribute privately, and show a running total, without anyone tallying transfers by hand.
Member welfareNominations, eligibility, secret ballot and count, run to the constitution and above question.
BallotingMembers find each other by specialty, which helps with referrals, advice, and covering each other's leave.
Members onlyRegistration, ticketing and donations for the annual walk, with a live fundraising total and receipts for donors.
FundraisingEmail the whole membership, or just the GPs, or just financial members, all from inside the site.
SegmentedStored once, readable by members in the browser, and surviving every change of guard.
PermanentThis is the part that saves the most time, so it is the part built most carefully. The treasurer should never reconcile a bank statement by hand again.
Sample data showing the treasurer's view
Sample ballot showing turnout only, never who voted for whom
The current EXCO took office in December 2025 for a two year term, so the next election is already on the horizon. Running it on the platform makes it faster to administer and far harder to question.
NAMDA already supports members through life's difficult moments, financially and otherwise. The platform takes the admin out of that so the support arrives faster and nobody has to count transfers during a hard week.
Sample view with amounts hidden
You see working software at the end of every stage, not a status report. Nothing goes live until the EXCO has used it and signed off.
We confirm the dues structure, membership categories, what the register holds, and approve the look of the site. Constitution reviewed for anything the platform must respect.
The new site goes up on a private link. Members can apply to join, the EXCO can approve them. Share it with the committee before anyone else sees it.
Payments, renewals, reminders, receipts, the welfare fund and the treasurer's dashboard, all tested end to end with real amounts in test mode.
Existing members imported, the EXCO trained in one session, payments switched live, and namda.com.au pointed at the new platform.
Three options in Australian dollars, excluding GST. Every option runs at A$30 per month for hosting, security and your existing namda.com.au domain. Cancel any time, and the site and its data come with you.
A rebuilt public site, plus the end of chasing payments by hand. The two things that pay for themselves fastest.
Foundation plus the things that make NAMDA more than a subscription: welfare, elections, the walk, and the association's records.
The full platform, and I keep it running so no EXCO member has to. Care is included for the first year.
How these figures are reached. Each option is estimated against my consulting rate
of A$100 per hour, covering the build, the testing and the documentation. If a piece takes me longer
than estimated, that is my risk rather than your invoice. The figure you approve is the figure you
pay.
Anything not listed. If NAMDA wants something beyond the option you choose, tell me
and I'll scope it, estimate the hours, and send it back as a written variation at the same A$100 per
hour. Nothing is added to an invoice without the EXCO approving it in writing first.
Payment terms. 40% to begin, 40% when the staging site is approved, 20% on launch.
Card fees. Payments process through Stripe directly into NAMDA's own account. I
never hold the association's money. Stripe charges around 1.7% plus 30c per Australian card payment,
passed to you at cost with no margin from me.
Ownership. The domain, the Stripe account, the hosting and the member data sit in
NAMDA's name from day one. If the association ever wants a different developer, you change the
passwords and nothing breaks.
Founding rate. These are founding client prices, set deliberately for an
association of this size. In exchange I ask for a short testimonial after three months, and an
introduction to one other association if you're happy with the work.
Approve the option that fits and we can start on the register and the dues structure next week. If the EXCO would rather talk it through first, I'm happy to join a committee call.
